The Missions Committee Mission is the means by which we spread the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. Spreading the love of Christ is the responsibility of every Christian. Chestnut Street is a mission-minded church. If you are interested in becoming involved in any of the ongoing mission projects, please contact the church office. The children of the Sunday School Classes have completed their project of raising $1000.00 by the end of June, 2002. This money will be applied to the cost of building a house in Bolivia, South America, to replace mud and stick huts. They did this by buying one brick at a time at the cost of $1.00 per brick.. The replacement house will be a two-room brick house. The UMYF raised $2500.00 with a Spaghetti Supper and other projects to send to the same area. This amount will completely pay for an entire house. Jesse Lamm will be leaving on July 27, 2002, for Bolivia for two weeks to help see this project through. Jesse Lamm returned to Bolivia in May of 2003 to continue with these projects. Jesse is part of the SEJANAM team. Below is a picture of the completed replacement house that was sponsored by our youth and children.
