Worship Committee

We Currently have two services of worship on Sundays. A traditional service of worship at 11:00 A.M. and a contemporary service of worship on Sunday Morning at 8:45 A.M.. This service is "Hearts on Fire," a praise and worship service. It is also a casual or informal attire service. The music is lead by our Praise Team, and a sermon and communion by the pastor. We follow the traditional liturgical year. We incorporate music and drama in our worship during Christmas, Lent, Holy week and Advent. Lay persons serve as lector to assist the pastor.

The purpose of the Worship Committee is to provide the most reverent, prayerful, and meaningful worship experience for all persons who enter the House of God. Many helpful hands, thoughtful minds, and eager spirits are necessary to bring about a closer relationship with God as we worship in His presence.

The Worship Committee is a multifaceted unit comprising various subcommittees which follow the doctrines of Methodism in carrying out the duties of the church. Most of these duties are centered around the care and functions of the sanctuary. The largest subcommittee is the Altar Guild which cares for the display and storage of the many paraments used in worship services throughout the various church seasons of the year. The Communion Stewards is the subcommittee which prepares for Holy Communion services. There is also a Flower Coordinator who maintains the list of families who place flowers in the church each Sunday of the year. The Usher subcommittee recruits ushers for each Sunday service and special services throughout the calendar year. The Wedding subcommittee implements the church policies related to marriage ceremonies in our sanctuary. The Music Committee is the subcommittee which oversees the music programs and various choirs of the church, including seasonal programs and guest musicians.

The Worship Ministry consists of a chairperson and all chairpersons and members of the many subcommittees. Final decisions for this ministry are approved by the church minister. Through the numerous functions of the Worship Committee, it is our prayerful hope that all those who attend our services will depart with joyous hearts and a closer relationship with our Lord.
